A Song That Doesn't Carry the Movie Forward but in Retrospect Sets the Context

I have been listening to this song for some time now and decided to watch the movie . In the movie, even though I love the song , when it came at the very beginning, the song felt like a distraction (as most bollywood songs in movies are) and they could have skipped the song . If you removed it from the film, the plot would continue unchanged ,the sequence of events would be identical. And yet, when I finished the movie, I realized that what the song stood for, how it had been craftly written for just the movie at just the time it appeared.

That is very rare. A song which doesn’t move the story forward but in retpospect sets the context.

Watch the movie and maybe you’ll agree :)

What an amazing composition , writing (kaushal kishore) and singing (fun fact : Armaan Rashid Khan is son of Ustad Rashid Khan)

Qubool teri zidd hai saari, saari baatein qubool hain
Qubool saare din tumhare, siyaah raatein qubool hain
